ABSTRACT
Partial edentulism can impair mastication, speech, and aesthetics, ultimately reducing a patient's quality of life. Removable partial dentures (RPDs) remain a widely used prosthodontic treatment option because they can restore oral function and appearance at a relatively affordable cost. This case report aims to describe the clinical procedures involved in the fabrication and insertion of removable partial dentures in a patient with multiple missing teeth in both the maxillary and mandibular arches. A 54-year-old female patient presented with missing teeth 15, 16, 24, 25, 26, 27, 44, and 47. The patient had a history of controlled diabetes mellitus and hypertension and sought replacement of the missing teeth to restore masticatory function and aesthetics. Treatment procedures included clinical examination, preliminary impressions using irreversible hydrocolloid material, study cast analysis, denture design planning, fabrication of individual trays, border molding, functional impressions, jaw relation records, articulator mounting, shade selection, try-in, acrylic processing, insertion, and occlusal adjustment. An acrylic resin removable partial denture was selected based on the patient's functional and esthetic requirements. The acrylic resin removable partial denture successfully restored masticatory function and aesthetics while providing adequate retention, stability, and support. Successful treatment outcomes were achieved through proper treatment planning, appropriate denture design, and comprehensive patient education regarding denture maintenance.
